Kenny Perry has added one more win this week to the growing list of accomplishments. His playoff victory today at the John Deere was a great performance and will be a memorable one for me. I told Kenny at the begining of the week when I was watching him hit balls that if any putts fell at all ,he would walk away the winner once again. I watched him hit 4 irons on the range that looked like laser guided missles at the flag, it was among the most impressive ball striking sessions I have seen (and yes I had the privelage of watching Moe Norman). Over the last few weeks my work with Kenny hasnt been much more then a check up. We spent the earlier part of the year working on getting his swing back as close to what it was in 03′. He had to relearn his swing over the last year because of a knee injury the year before. Kenny Perry has always been known for his ball striking and his “hot” streaks but when you break it down this week you can see the putter spoke volumes for his game. Throughout the week Kenny was amazing from 6′ and in. He made a ton of clutch putts coming down the stretch on Sunday. I look for KP to play very well again next week, he has his game right where he wants it and the putter is working nicely.

This week I flew up to the John Deere to work with players J.B. Holmes and Kenny Perry. The tournament is in Moline Illinois. The course is in excellent shape and sets up relatively well for both players although they play opposite shots. Length will be very helpful at the John Deere and the wide fairways are more receptive for the longer hitter. Both players are hitting the ball well and are looking forward for the tournament to start.

This weekend I have been at J.B.’s home in Orlando helping him prepare for Tigers Tournament in D.C. and the John Deere. He is hitting the ball very well. We played and practiced at Isleworth the last few days and he is striking the ball very well. He will play the next three including the British. I look for him to come out strong next week and the weeks to come.

Kenny Perry put together 4 great rounds of golf this week in Michigan to win the Buick. Good ball striking and great putting were keys to his win. He set very high goals at the beginning of the season and it appears that he is now a lock on Azinger’s Ryder Cup team. He has spent many hours working on his game the last six months and it is evident in his great play. I look for him to play very well again next week at Tigers Tournament. He has always been a streaky player and right now he has his game where he wants it and has the ability to continue winning.

This week I am in San Diego for the U.S. Open. I’ve walked the course twice with J.B. Holmes and the course sets up well for a long hitter. He is hitting the ball very well and I like his chances. Torrey Pines is set up slightly different than normal for the players this week. The greens are much faster and harder than they usually are during the Buick. The rough has 3 cuts and the primary rough is very penalizing, it is difficult to move the ball out of it at all. The ball sits up pretty well in the first and second cut. Other changes include lengthening the course, turning one of the par 5’s into a par 4, and the addition of a few new tee boxes. A USGA official told me today the greens were rolling around 13. Strong winds off the ocean add to the difficulty. Overall a very fair set up with good shots rewarded and bad shots penalizing.

Kenny Perry played very well this week for his 3rd victory at the Memorial. Kenny has put in many hours of practice this year and is a well deserved champion. His goal for the Ryder Cup team has been his main motivation and one of his ultimate career goals. His ball striking as well as his putting played an important roll in his victory. He has been playing great the last few weeks and continued to work hard even when he had some bad breaks. He worked very hard for this victory!

The last two days I spent some time at Olde Stone where I will be opening up my academy towards the end of the month. J.B. Holmes and Shaun Micheel came in to practice and prepare for the Memorial. The facility at Olde Stone is among the most impressive in the world (teaching facility, range, club house, and course). We spent a lot of time at the back of the range at my new factility working on different aspects of each players game and we played the course a few times. I will be posting more info about Olde Stone in the weeks to come. You can check out the website at www.olde-stone.com

Kenny played very well this week in Atlanta and had a great chance last week at the players. His game is steadily improving and his positioning the last few weeks coming into the final round is a result of his hard work and dedication. With his mind set fo r the Ryder Cup team I think the weeks to come at Colonial and at the Memorial will be nothing short of excellent. I think victory for Kenny is just around the corner.

Kenny Perry has played three great rounds of golf. I saw Kenny Wednesday at the Players and spent some time with him on the putting green and the range. He was putting very well and striking it the best I have seen a very long time. The touch with the putter has been the biggest key for him this week, he has made a lot of clutch 4-8 footers but he has lag putted much better then he has in the past. Combine good putting with his amazing ball striking and you have a combination that is very capable of winning The Players in todays final round. J.B. Holmes put himself back in the mix yesterday after 5 consecutive birdies. A few bogeys coming down the stretch left him at -1 and still in the hunt.

This week I am back in sunny Florida. I am at the Players Championship. The greens look better then ever and putt as true as I have ever seen. Shaun Micheel, Kenny Perry, and J.B. Holmes are all in the field. All three players made the cut last week at Wachovia and are playing well. I spent most the day today with Shaun working on his full swing. We worked very hard on his setup. The setup is a major key because it is truly the starting point for the swing. A solid setup and good fundamentals are major keys for the amatuer as well as the professional. I will spend the next few days on the course with all three players fine tuning their games and trying to help them prepare as much as possible for the week to come.
